Nordhem has built upholstered furniture in Jämtland since 1948, starting with dining chairs for the region's school canteens. The workshop still sits on the same site, and still makes frames from local pine and birch.
Every seat is built around a jointed hardwood frame rather than a stapled one, which is what makes the covers worth replacing: Nordhem stocks replacement covers for ten years after a model leaves the catalogue, and will re-web a frame at any point in its life.
Description / Vila Lounge Chair
A low lounge chair with a deep seat and a back that curves round to meet the arms in one line. The frame is solid oak, left oiled; the cushions are feather-wrapped foam, so they take a dent and recover overnight rather than flattening for good.
Choose bouclé, washed linen, cotton velvet or full-grain leather. Dimensions: 78x82x71 cm, seat height 38 cm.
